چکیده

Squamosa promoter-binding protein-like (SPL) is a major family of plant-specific transcription factor, which involved in multiple biological processes, such as plant growth and development, hormone response, light response stress response. Therefore, it has been profoundly significant to systematically analyze the SPL Transcription Factors Brassica oleracea. In this study, total 33 BoSPLs were identified B. oleracea genome, they further divided into six subgroups based on phylogenetic tree constructed from proteins oleracea, rapa Arabidopsis thaliana. The expression profile different organs/tissues showed that large number expressed callus, root, stem, leaf, bud, flower silique. addition, levels two (BoSPL9b BoSPL10b) up-regulated chilling tolerance cabbage ‘CT-923’ at 6 h after when compared with normal treatment (mock), while BoSPL15a) sensitive ‘CS-D9’, five (BoSPL1, -9a, -9b, -10b, -11b) BoSPL16a) ‘CS-D9’ 24 stress, indicated these genes may play an important role chilling-tolerance cabbage. We analyzed characteristics provided basis for functional research.

Chromosome Doubling of Microspore-Derived Plants from Cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.) and Broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica L.)

Chromosome doubling of microspore-derived plants is an important factor in the practical application of microspore culture technology because breeding programs require a large number of genetically stable, homozygous doubled haploid plants with a high level of fertility. In the present paper, 29 populations of microspore-derived plantlets from cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata) and brocc...

Evaluation of Antioxidant Activities of Cabbage (Brassica oleracea L. var. capitata L.)

At present, it is widely-known that free radicals are the causes of illness such as cancers, coronary heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease and aging. One method of protection from free radical is the consumption of antioxidant-containing foods or herbs. Several analytical methods have been used for qualitative and quantitative determination of antioxidants. This project aimed to evaluate antioxid...

Cabbage (Brassica oleracea L. var. capitata) phytochemicals with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory potential.

BACKGROUND The objective of this study was to investigate antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity of cabbage phytochemicals. MATERIALS AND METHODS Color coordinates were evaluated by colorimetry, and the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities were analyzed by spectrophotometer for some common cabbage varieties. RESULTS Red heads had the highest total antioxidant contents followed b...

Anatomic Characteristics Associated with Head Splitting in Cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.)

Cabbage belonging to Brassicaceae family is one of the most important vegetables cultivated worldwide. The economically important part of cabbage crop is head, formed by leaves which may be of splitting and non-splitting types. Cabbage varieties showing head splitting causes huge loss to the farmers and therefore finding the molecular and structural basis of splitting types would be helpful to ...

Whole-Genome Mapping Reveals Novel QTL Clusters Associated with Main Agronomic Traits of Cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.)

We describe a comprehensive quantitative trait locus (QTL) analysis for 24 main agronomic traits of cabbage. Field experiments were performed using a 196-line double haploid population in three seasons in 2011 and 2012 to evaluate important agronomic traits related to plant type, leaf, and head traits. In total, 144 QTLs with LOD threshold >3.0 were detected for the 24 agronomic traits: 25 for ...
